First off let me share that, more often than not, the hardest part of finishing a piece of writing is actually submitting it. I’m definitely finding this to be the case with publishing chapters on JukePop. I will be perfectly happy with what I have until the moment when I have to hit that final submit button, because I know that, no matter how many times I’ve checked and rechecked it, a few typos are going to slip through, and once I hit that button there’s not a damn thing I can do about it.
That said, I”m happy to announce that Dosterra Chapter Eight is now available on JukePop Serials in all of its not-perfect glory–and I”m learning to be ok with that 😉
If you’re interested in checking it out, remember that you can read for free and you no longer need to sign up for a JukePop account if you don’t want to. You can sign in via facebook and have access to all eight chapters. I’d love to hear what you think, so as always, don’t be afraid to comment here on my blog or directly on JukePop.
The fourth chapter of my serialized sci fi/dystopian novel Dosterrais now available on JukePop Serials…Angry pincers protruded from their bulbous heads, snapping wildly in search of a target…how can you resist that? 😉
It’s the story of a young scientist, Lexie. Her specialty is time travel…or was until she found out something about it that the Dosterran Regulators don’t want the public to know. Lexie winds up on the run with the help of her friend Tem and former colleague Iden. But it looks like Iden might not be on her side…
If you like it, please take the time to vote. And if you like other stories on JukePop no worries, you can vote for as many stories as you like. One vote allowed per chapter. Comments and suggestions are also encouraged, but if you just want to read and enjoy that’s ok too. You will have to register with JukePop to read past chapter one of any story, but don’t worry it’s free and they won’t spam you.
Just letting you know that chapter three ofDosterra–my time travel dystopian adventure–is available at JukePop Serials. Check it out.
Hoping to have chapter four out in a couple of weeks.
I also recommend you check out some of the other stories at JukePop there are some good ones. And don’t forget you can vote, bookshelf, and make comments about what you like/don’t like, what direction you think a story should go in, etc. These are all works in progress, so don’t be shy. Sharing, forwarding, tweeting, etc is also highly encouraged 🙂
Hope you like it. If you do, please take a minute to register and vote. All you have to do is give an email address and come up with a password. Then you can vote (once per chapter), bookshelf, and comment.
Don’t worry, the registration isn’t so that JukePop can spam you, it’s just to make sure no one is voting for the same serial chapter multiple times. As I’ve mentioned before, there are all kinds of genre fiction stories available at JukePop, so even if Sci-fi/Dystopian isn’t your cup of tea, I strongly recommend that you check it out.
I just wanted to harp a little more on JukePop Serials. It’s a great new site for readers and writers alike. For any aspiring writers out there, you should know that the site is over the hump of the beta launch phase and they have said that they will soon be announcing the acceptance of new authors.
You can follow their updates yourself if you look them up on facebook or twitter.
They are always accepting new submissions. So if you are working on a novel already, or have an idea in mind for a story that could be serialized you should check them out. It doesn’t have to become a cohesive novel necessarily, it’s up to the author how long they keep their serial going.
I’ve had some feedback that sometimes people have trouble voting/commenting and it turns out I’m not the only one (JukePop is still in its beta launch phase so there are some glitches) You have to enable cookies. I’ve attached JukePop’s response below, so if you haven’t yet please take a minute to register and vote for my story!
You can also ‘bookshelf’ my story (or others’ of course) so you’ll get an email update when I post the next chapter, and they’ve added share buttons so feel free to forward to your other facebook friends 🙂
Warning – registration confirmation emails tend to end up in spam folders at the moment so if you’re trying to register with the site don’t forget to check there.

Q: Why can’t I vote/bookshelf even though I’m logged in?
A: Most likely your browser has disabled “cookies”, the most likely culprit is IE. Other popular browsers like Firefox and Chrome turn “cookies” on by default. Here’s a link from Microsoft that’ll show you how to enable cookies. (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Block-or-allow-cookies)
