The next step in my novel writing journey is complete. Dosterra chapter six is now live on JukePop Serials. Interrogation, breaking and entering, and spiders (not necessarily in that order) are all a part of this phase in the Dosterra adventure.
If you haven’t yet, go to the site and registerfor a free JukePop account. You can get a taste by reading chapter one (of my story or any other) without an account, but I’d certainly love for you to sign up and read on…and +Vote.
Don’t forget, JukePop also offers free reader apps for Apple and Android.
Attention JukePop readers (and writers) there have been some changes to the site. You now have to create an account and sign in if you want to read past chapter one of a serial. This is to encourage readers to vote and comment on their favorite stories.
I highly recommend taking the 30 seconds to create an account–and not just because I want you to read Dosterra 🙂 — It doesn’t cost to register (all you need is an email address and password) and there are lots of great stories to read!
Hope you like it. If you do, please take a minute to register and vote. All you have to do is give an email address and come up with a password. Then you can vote (once per chapter), bookshelf, and comment.
Don’t worry, the registration isn’t so that JukePop can spam you, it’s just to make sure no one is voting for the same serial chapter multiple times. As I’ve mentioned before, there are all kinds of genre fiction stories available at JukePop, so even if Sci-fi/Dystopian isn’t your cup of tea, I strongly recommend that you check it out.
I just wanted to harp a little more on JukePop Serials. It’s a great new site for readers and writers alike. For any aspiring writers out there, you should know that the site is over the hump of the beta launch phase and they have said that they will soon be announcing the acceptance of new authors.
You can follow their updates yourself if you look them up on facebook or twitter.
They are always accepting new submissions. So if you are working on a novel already, or have an idea in mind for a story that could be serialized you should check them out. It doesn’t have to become a cohesive novel necessarily, it’s up to the author how long they keep their serial going.
I’ve had some feedback that sometimes people have trouble voting/commenting and it turns out I’m not the only one (JukePop is still in its beta launch phase so there are some glitches) You have to enable cookies. I’ve attached JukePop’s response below, so if you haven’t yet please take a minute to register and vote for my story!
You can also ‘bookshelf’ my story (or others’ of course) so you’ll get an email update when I post the next chapter, and they’ve added share buttons so feel free to forward to your other facebook friends 🙂
Warning – registration confirmation emails tend to end up in spam folders at the moment so if you’re trying to register with the site don’t forget to check there.
Response from JukePop Serials
Q: Why can’t I vote/bookshelf even though I’m logged in?
A: Most likely your browser has disabled “cookies”, the most likely culprit is IE. Other popular browsers like Firefox and Chrome turn “cookies” on by default. Here’s a link from Microsoft that’ll show you how to enable cookies. (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Block-or-allow-cookies)
I’m inviting you to check out the first installment of Dosterra a story I am writing for JukePop Serials The site is new (beta launch phase) and provides serialized genre fiction. You can vote for stories you like and even comment on how you’d like the author to continue the story.
The link I provided takes you to my story – Dosterra – which happens to be sci fi (yes, I’m a geek), but if you go to the main page there are lots of stories available of different genres. If you would like to vote or comment (like for my story for instance – just sayin’…) go to ‘register’ in the upper right corner. It will ask you for an email address and password – don’t worry it’s FREE – and you will receive a confirmation email, then you can log in to vote, comment, and bookshelf stories you’d like to follow.
Warning, the confirmation emails tend to end up in spam folders so if you don’t receive it right away check there. You don’t have to register to read, just to vote or comment:)
